Trademarks

“Privacy Buddy” and the Privacy Buddy shield mark are trademarks of BuddyCorp.

Apple, iPhone, iPad, iOS, iPadOS and App Store are trademarks of Apple Inc., registered in the U.S. and other countries. All other trademarks mentioned belong to their respective owners. Their use here does not imply any affiliation with or endorsement by them.

License to use

By downloading or using Privacy Buddy (“the App”), you agree to these terms. BuddyCorp grants you a personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App on Apple-branded devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Usage Rules.

Restrictions

You agree not to:

• sell, rent, lease, sublicense, or redistribute the App;
• copy, modify, or create derivative works of the App;
• decompile, disassemble, or reverse engineer the App, except where applicable law expressly permits it;
• use the App for any unlawful purpose.

Your content

You keep all rights to the photos, videos and audio you process. BuddyCorp never receives them — processing happens entirely on your device, as described in the privacy policy. You're responsible for having the right to share whatever you send onward.

Disclaimer

Privacy Buddy removes the metadata categories described in the App and on this site (EXIF, TIFF, GPS, IPTC, PNG text and camera maker-note metadata). It does not alter the visible content of an image, and some file formats can carry other embedded data that falls outside those categories. Check sensitive files yourself before sharing them.

The App is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. BuddyCorp does not warrant that the App will be error-free or that it will remove every piece of identifying information from every file.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, BuddyCorp will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including any information disclosed through files you share. Because the App is free, BuddyCorp's total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid for it. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be waived.

App Store terms

These terms are between you and BuddyCorp, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App and is not responsible for addressing any claims relating to it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them. Where these terms are silent, Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies.

Changes & contact

We may update these terms from time to time; the current version will always be on this page with its date. Continuing to use the App after a change means you accept the updated terms.
